Monday tidbits, remixed
An extended version of today’s tidbits…
* Chris Carpenter sounded very optimistic, even excited, after his throw today. He’s still a ways off, but he’s coming along well. He hopes to throw off a mound perhaps Sunday in Cincinnati or Tuesday in Pittsburgh.
* Brad Thompson is back after getting sorted out in three starts at Memphis. TLR continues to have nothing but good things to say about P.J. Walters. The results weren’t good, but they saw some things they liked.
* Still no word on a makeup game for Sunday’s rainout. However, TLR said he doubted that the game would be played in St. Louis.
* They’re still in no hurry to go back to 12 pitchers, per the mgr.
* Khalil Greene is slowly getting closer, but he’s not there yet. It remains a day-by-day situation, very uncertain.
