Tuesday lineup; tidbits to follow
Matt Holliday is in the starting lineup tonight, as he expected he would be.
Lineup vs RHP Chad Billingsley:
1. Schumaker 2B
2. Ryan SS
3. Pujols 1B
4. Holliday LF
5. Ludwick RF
6. Ankiel CF
7. Greene 3B
8. LaRue C
9. Boggs P
All makes sense, only real point of intrigue is Rasmus sitting for a second straight night. Will ask the manager about that. Greene is 7-for-12 against Billingsley.

I think Tony isn’t a big Rasmus fan, so I’m not all too surprised there.
Wouldn’t that be ironic if Holliday rushes out there with a bad toe, takes a foul ball off of it, and misses the rest of the season as the Cubs just roll through the rest of their easy schedule?
Rasmus gets a hot bat and is benched for ‘his own good’? C’mon.
The conspiracy theories can rest. Rasmus isn’t feeling well. More to come.

I think you ought not to listen to so much Alanis, Bob.
Dude, it seems that the Cardinals are about to net my favorite player as a youngster, John Smoltz. Oh, if only those posters in my room donned the Birds on the Bat circa 1996… Question being, how do you feel about the (at this point likely) move? I’m tickled pink, since I feel a move to a familiar league, familiar hitters, friendly ballpark and the magic of Dave Duncan can get him back on track, not to mention brief setup stints will prolong his shoulder and maintain his effectiveness (last 7 starts compiled a 0.64 ERA through the first two innings–highly effective, imo). Good move by the Cards, or is my beloved Smoltzie done?
I like it a lot if he’s relieving. I’m much less sold on it if he’s starting.
