Wow!! This looks like a killer lineup! I’m looking forward to another great outing by McClellan and maybe some more serious run support by the Cardinals.
Really, our starting pitching has done rather well; if our offense would have supplied a bit more run support in those close games, more of those L’s might be W’s.
Lesson learned…time to move on. With Holliday back and the guys starting to do their thing at home plate, the only thing that needs a bit of work is our outfield defense (ie: catching the ball…Colby Rasmus). For real, blown 9th inning catches two nights in a row. Way to cut the cheese Colby…
As far as the rest of the guys go, it looks like they’re doing their jobs pretty well. Like always, I’m pulling for a Cardinals win!!
Why does St.Louis always have pitching woes. With all the hitting they’ve had for several years, they should have went out and got some pitching. Now they’re in a downward spiral.
Pitching woes = Dave Duncan
4th in the league in ERA. 3rd in strikeout to walk ratio. 3rd in WHIP. They’re pitching fine.
Last year they were fourth in ERA. They were fourth in 2009 as well.
The pitching is fine. It’s been fine.

Could this possibly be the first repeated lineup of the year for Tony? If I recall correctly, this was the opening day lineup, wasn’t it? Mr. Leach, correct me if I’m wrong!
I believe so, but that’s a little misleading since they were doing without Holliday. Fr the most part, the lineup has been pretty stable IMO.

Jack, are you nuts? Dave Duncan is one of the best pitching coaches in the league. Remember that 2006 joke of a staff that won a world series? Or the fact that we are consistently in the top 5-7 of most pitching categories.
C’mon now, please stay civil. I disagreed with the statement, but “are you nuts?” doesn’t advance anything. The only rule here is to respect each other. Thanks…
I am just seriously wondering what Cardinals team he has been watching. How in the world can you criticize a pitching staff that usually does not appear imposing, yet always performs well? Honestly, I do not believe “are you nuts” to be fist-fight worthy…
There’s a long way between civil and “fist-fight-worthy.” I never said it was that. I just said please stay civil. I say it again.
If you disagree, great! Do what you did here. Make your point. Use evidence. Argue your position. Just don’t insult each other.
Thanks much.
