It’s not typically news when the scheduled starting pitcher is still the starting pitcher on gameday, but, well, here we are. The lineup card is up and Brandon Dickson, not Chris Carpenter, is the starting pitcher.

It worked out for him. If not for the offense and bullpen, this thread would have been loaded with criticism for the move. Rightfully so, in my opinion, and I’d probably be one of the critics. But it worked out, and if the extra day for Carp shows results in the win column, it’ll payoff for any run the Cards might make.
