Roster projection, sixth guess

If Skip Schumaker is traded to Tampa Bay, who do you think would take his place on the roster?

Wouldn't it still make sense to hold off on making the trade or bringing up Colby Rasmus until after opening day to start his clock?

Seems to me like the Rays have an army of OFs, even with Baldelli out...

did i miss something? are they actually looking at trading skip? who are they asking for in return? he seems like a pretty decent, YOUNG player with good potential. i've always liked skip, i think he's earned his shot over the last two seasons. this would be a shame unless we get something promising and not broken in return.

Hey Matt, whats up with this Skip Schumaker trade stuff? Where was I at when this happened? Also, what do you think of Reed Johnson being released from Toronto. I know we have a surplus of outfielders and we're having a hard time finding places for them all, but Johnson is an experienced center fielder and an accomplished lead off man as well. It would give us a chance to add some more speed to the line up, establish the lead off man, give us a chance to move Ankiel to right, and give some more order to the line up.

Why does the coaching staff have so much confidence in Wellenmeyer and so little in Anthony Reyes? I really thought AR would start the season in the rotation, but apparently I know nothing.

I would expect that when Mulder, Clement and Pinero come back, that Wellemeyer and Thompson will both go to the pen or be traded. I think Reyes was sent down so he could pitch on a regular basis and get his innings.
And who knows what happens to Looper. But when Carpenter returns Looper could be the odd man out.

Let's just hope that the injured pitchers return on schedule and in good health.

I still would love to see reyes for at least the start of the season until the other starters are healthy. Pinkerton = the best album of the 90's

The Rays have reportedly been looking for another outfielder.

Scott Wuerz, of the Belleville News-Democrat, says Skip is on the Rays' radar.

It's just a rumor, so take with a grain of salt.

By all accounts, Iz2 had a very good defensive day... but to have TLR calling it "amazing", and gloating... very professional... what's he do now, if today's the blip?

Okeedoke, have a good quiet day... traffic in Fort Meyers is miserable... we were just down there on Sanibel Island a few weeks back... beautiful, beautiful island, icky, icky traffic.

I dont want to see Skip go yet...but we have a lot of youth and I think finding another solid middle infielder would not be a bad idea...Also I love the Big Lebowski reference at the top of the page. Is this your homework Larry?
